About
Eylül Alıcıoğlu
I am Eylül Alıcıoğlu, an artist based in Ankara, Türkiye, creating handmade wall sculptures inspired by nature, colour, and the quiet irregularities found in organic forms.
My work begins with clay and wood, transforming a two-dimensional surface into a sculptural composition. I work intuitively, shaping each element by hand rather than seeking perfect symmetry. Petals bend, overlap and unfold in their own directions, allowing each piece to retain something of the gesture with which it was made.
Nature has always been one of my greatest sources of observation. I am drawn to botanical forms, shifting landscapes, unexpected colour relationships, and the small imperfections that make something feel alive.
Each piece is made slowly and individually. From shaping the clay to composing the forms, painting the surface and finishing the work, every stage is part of the artwork itself.
I do not aim to reproduce nature exactly. Instead, I translate the feeling I find in it — its colours, movement, softness and contrasts — into sculptural forms.
Every piece is therefore an observation, a search for harmony, and a little of my love made tangible.
The Work
My wall sculptures are handmade from air-dry clay and wood. Because each piece is shaped and finished by hand, subtle variations in form, texture and colour are natural and should be considered part of the character of the work.
These are not mass-produced objects. Each sculpture is created as an individual work, carrying the traces of the process through which it came into being.
Custom Works
Selected pieces can also be created as commissioned works, with custom dimensions, forms and colour palettes.
For commissioned pieces, the final design is developed in communication with the client before production begins. Because these works are made specifically for the individual customer, they are considered personalised works and are subject to the applicable legal rules concerning personalised goods.
